Ufa City delegation met with Mayor of Bishkek Albek Ibraimov

The opening ceremony of the V Forum of Russian Cities Union "Best Municipal Practices" took place on April 11th in Bishkek. The forum gathered municipalities and local governments’ representatives of 150 cities around the world.

During the forum, the delegation of Ufa led by the Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration Irek Yalalov met with the Mayor of Bishkek city, Albek Ibraimov, in order to discuss the development of sister-city relations between Ufa and Bishkek. The town twinning agreement between Ufa and Bishkek was signed on June 12th, 2017.

Prospects for bilateral cooperation were discussed during the meeting. Irek Yalalov told about the potential of the capital of Bashkortostan and the most important directions of urban development from industry to culture and sports.

He stressed that the Republic of Bashkortostan and its capital had accumulated positive experience in improving interethnic relations. One of the priority areas of the national, cultural and spiritual development of the city is the support and popularization of the cultural heritage of the nations living in the Bashkortostan.
