Ufa City Municipal District Administration held the meeting with official delegation from twin city Shenyang.

On October 19, 2018 City Municipal Administration held the meeting of the Acting Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration Salavat Khusainov and official delegation from Ufa’s twin city - Shenyang  situated in the People's Republic of China.

The delegation was led by the Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of Shenyang city Han Dongtai. The delegation also included the Head of the Secretariat of National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of Shenyang city Jian Jun, Director of the Chancery of Foreign Affairs of People's Government of Shenyang city Van Jining,  the Deputy Director of the Chancery of Foreign Affairs of People's Government of Shenyang city Sun Sin,  interpreter of the Chancery of Foreign Affairs of People's Government of Shenyang city Chen Yue.

From the side of the Republic’s Administration there were the following participants: the Chairman of the Ufa City Council  Valeriy Trofimov and his deputies Ruslan Sultanov and Anatoliy Goryachev, the deputies Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration Ilgiz Nasirtdinov and Rustem Gazizov, the Head of Oktyabrskiy District of Ufa City Municipal District Robert Akhunov,  the Head of Municipal Department for  Investments Mars Aminov, the Head of Municipal Department of Consumer market and tourism Luisa Makshukova,  the Head of Municipal Department on Physical Culture and Sports Sergey Stepanov, the Head of the International Liaison of the Department for Investments Ildar Ishmanov, the director of Employers' Union of Ufa city Elena Bartnovskaya.

During the conversation Salavat Khusainov mentioned economic and social issues in Ufa and spoke about huge international events which have already taken place in the city and that will be hold here:

“In 2019, Ufa will host Summer International Children's Games. Over 1500 athletes including sports teams from China are expected to take part in the competition. We hope to see highlight performances of sports team from Shenyang. And we are very pleased to host World Folkloriada in 2020 where Chinese folk group will perform with the unique show.”

Salavat Khusainov also marked that Ufa City Municipal District Administration tends to develop friendly relations between the cities and pay a great attention to external economic links.

Twin cities of Ufa are Astana (the Republic of Kazakhstan), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Ankara (the Republic of Turkey), Halle (Germany), Minsk (Belarus), Nanchang, Qiqihar, Hefei and Shenyang  (the People's Republic of China). It has to be noted that Ufa is the first Russian city which became a twin city of Shenyang.

Many Ufa and Chinese cities’ co-projects were carried out: co-production of polypropylene bags, Ufa engine manufacturing group produced aircraft engines delivered to China. “Geophizika” company also had an experience of cooperation in the sphere of oil production with Chinese partners, such as Chinese Oil National Corporation.

Recently, Ufa focuses on Chinese language learning at schools. Today 4 schools in Ufa teach Chinese language as a required program and one – as an optional.

“We always ready for cooperation, ready to host delegations, learn from other cities and share our experience,” said Salavat Khusainov “the People's Republic of China has a significant practice in the sphere of tourism, major international sports and cultural events holdings. Taking advantage of an opportunity, I propose to hold co-operative activities in Ufa."

In return, the Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of Shenyang city Han Dongtai appreciated a warm welcome in the capital of Bashkortostan, pointed at beauty of the city and Ufa citizens’ friendliness. Then parties discussed promising spheres for cooperation.  Shenyang representatives also mentioned as a topical issue the cooperation development of the cities in the sphere of investment, production, consumer market and suggested to consider the opportunity for Ufa athletes to participate in football and hockey competition in Shenyang, and in educational exchange program in sports and cultural spheres.

At the end of the visit parties considered the meeting as a promotion for the further development and deeper engagement between twin cities, strengthening of friendly ties between nations and building contacts in educational, sports and other spheres.
