Ulfat Mustafin held a meeting with delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On November 23, 2018 the Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration Ulfat Mustafin held an official meeting with delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kazan. Delegation members headed by the Consul General Yerkin Tukumov arrived to the capital of Bashkortostan.

Representatives of the export insurance company “KazakhExport” in Russia Daniyar Tinimbayev and consultant of the Trade Representative Office of Kazakhstan in Kazan Azat Khakimov were on the delegation, too.

On the part of Ufa Administration the deputy Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration Ilgiz Nasirtdinov, chief of the city administration investment department Mars Aminov, chief deputy of Press Service of Ufa Administration Larisa Salikhova took part in the meeting. 

During the meeting Ulfat Mustafin presented main issues of social and economic situation in Ufa and, also, told about the preparations for huge international events:

“In 2019 Ufa will host Summer International Children Games.  More than 1500 athletes from all over the world including Kazakhstan are expected to participate in the competition and we hope to see performance of our Republic’s sport team, too.  In 2020 World Folkloriada will take place in our capital and Kazakh folk bands will also perform there”.

Ulfat Mustafin noted that municipality aims to develop friendly relations between cities and external economic links.

Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan have friendly relations for a long time. In 2013 a partnership agreement between Ufa and Astana was signed and in February, 2013 -Twin-city relations memorandum.

“To develop twinning relations, delegations are often need to be exchanged. I think that direct contacts development will be profitable for further relations” said Ulfat Mustafin.

The Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerkin Tukumov thanked authorities for the warm welcome and spoke about intentions of Kazakhstan to come to a system cooperation level.  In this regard, the roadmap of trade and economic cooperation between the Republics for 2019-2021 will be developed.

“It is a great pleasure for us to visit Bashkortostan and Ufa. Our peoples have long historical and cultural connections, related languages and ethnic cuisines” noted Yerkin Tukumov. “In 2019-2025 Kazakhstan will switch to the Latin alphabet, but it will not influence on developing co-operation and friendly relations. In fact, we switch on trilingualism - Kazakh, Russian and English languages”.

During the meeting the Consul General mentioned the following main issues of twinning relations development: opening of direct flights between Ufa and Astana, holding of mutual mass cultural events in the capitals and development of tourism. Also, Yerkin Tukumov invited Ulfat Mustafin to Economic Forum “Inspiring growth: people, cities, economics” wich Astana will held in May 16-17, 2019.
