Russian national team won 41 medals at Russian-Chinese Games in Ufa

The 2nd Russian-Chinese Winter Youth Games ended in Ufa.  200 athletes competed in 5 kinds of sports: hockey, short track, figure skating, ski race and snowboarding.

The 2nd Russian-Chinese Winter Youth Games ended in Ufa.  200 athletes competed in 5 kinds of sports: hockey, short track, figure skating, ski race and snowboarding.

According to the results of the Games, Russian national team won 41 medals and Chinese team – 31 medals.

“Competitors showed fair, fine, win-oriented contest and got well-deserved honour” said Deputy Minister of sports in RF Sergey Kosilov.

Also, the Chairman of the State Assembly — Kurultay of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev and the main judge of the competition - a legendary hockey player Vyacheslav Fetisov greeted everyone in closing ceremony.

“Games were held at a high level. I’m sure that sportsmen and guests of the Games will remember this event and hospitality of Bashkortostan” added Vyacheslav Fetisov.

Yekaterina Savina from Krasnoyarsk participated in such a large-scale event for the first time. She claims that Games gave her confidence, despite the fact she didn’t win any medals.

“Almost all the time we devoted to preparations for the competition” says the athlete “but we found time to go sightseeing in Ufa. Especially I liked Salavat Yulaev square with a fascinating view.”

Russian-Chinese Winter Youth Games was founded in 2016 in Kharbin, China where Russian team won overall standings.
