Dear soldiers and veterans of Airborne Forces!

Dear Ufa citizens!

Let me congratulate you with Russian Airborne Forces Day with all my heart!

Russian Airborne Forces have a great history and fine traditions. Next year an important date – 90 years of Airborne Forces foundation will be celebrated. In almost a decade history Airborne Forces went a long way from first small troops to the most modern and mobile military branch.

Fearlessness, dedication, utmost professionalism, devotion to duty and loyalty to oath inherent with paratroopers – these qualities were most brightly shown during the Great Patriotic War. Nowadays, when conducting tactical and peacekeeping operations, «blue berets» honorably complete the assigned tasks and are rightfully called the elite units of Armed Forces of Russian Federation.

Our city is proud of Airborne Forces. We know well about the act of bravery of Ufa citizen, Hero of Russia major-general Sergey Zagitovich Tulin, who fought in Yugoslavia and Chechnya – commanded the parachute-infantry regiment and motorized rifle brigade, participated in battles for Grozny and freed Gudermes city.

Ufa citizens sacredly honor the memory of fellow countrymen-paratroopers – Heroes of Russia Alexander Dostovalov, Artur Kurbangaleev. The name of Dostovalov is engraved on the monument in Victory park in Ufa. A memorial board in honor of Artur Kurbangaleev is installed on the wall of the house, where he spent his childhood.

Modern Airborne Forces paratroopers and veterans make a great contribution to the safety and well-being of our city, to the patriotic education of the youth, make a vivid example of loyalty to the oath, tenacity, mutual assistance to the future defenders of the Motherland.
