Young Ufa football players will participate in «Peace cup» tournament in China

On August 6-12, the fifth international juvenile football tournament «Peace cup» will take place in China. 4 thousand athletes from 7 countries will participate in the competition.

10 students of the Olympic reserve school №9 «Football Academy» will represent Ufa.

«Many times our team has placed high in different tournaments, but it is our first international competition. Children head to China with a good, combative mood. For them «Peace cup» is not only an opportunity to compete for the main prize, but also to learn from teams from different countries.» says the coach Leonid Ivakha.

12-year-old Arsen Ismagilov says, that active training for the tournament began a month before the trip.

«I think we are able to show a good result. We will play offensive football. To sit back in the defense is not our tactic.» says Arsen.

«Peace cup» tournament is held in Shenyang for fifth time and traditionally gathers dozens of teams from all over the world.

On September 21, 2011 an Agreement about establishment of twinning relations between Ufa and Shenyang was signed. Noteworthy, that Ufa is the first Russian twin-city of Shenyang.  Within the frame for interaction a cooperation in spheres such as municipal services, transportation lanes and utility lines, education and sport is realized.  

Among Shenyang twin-cities of Ufa are: Astana (Kazakhstan), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Ankara (Turkey), Halle (Germany), Minsk (The Republic of Belarus’), Nanchang, Qiqihar, Hefei (People’s Republic of China).
