A monument «To Heroes – liquidators of Chernobyl and other radiation disasters» will be unveiled.

On August 14, at 14:00 o’clock in 50th anniversary of Victory Park an unveiling of the monument «To Heroes – liquidators of Chernobyl and other radiation disasters» will be held.

The bronze monument is made on donations of the Ufa Administration Council deputy Artur Khazigaleev, sculptor – honoured artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan, laureate of the State Prize named after Salavat Yulaev, member of the Union of Russian Artists Khanif Khabibrakhmanov. Ufa Administration carried out improvement works around the park territory.

The monument will become a symbol of memory and deep honor to the deed of the citizens of Bashkortostan – liquidators of consequences of a radiation accident, historic and culture-significant object, an example of flawless service to the Motherland.

More than ten thousand Bashkortostan citizens participated in the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident. Currently about four thousand citizens and members of their family, who was exposed to radiation, live in the republic.
