On June 12, the Head of Bashkortostan Radii Khabirov took part in celebrations dedicated to the Day of Russia and the 266th anniversary of the birth of Salavat Yulaev.

On June 12, the Head of Bashkortostan Radii Khabirov took part in celebrations dedicated to the Day of Russia and the 266th anniversary of the birth of Salavat Yulaev.

In honor of the 266th anniversary of the birth of Salavat Yulaev, the head of the region, to the sounds of kurai, laid flowers at the monument to the national hero of Bashkortostan.

The sculptor Soslanbek Tavasiev created the largest equestrian statue in Russia and Europe. The monument was opened in 1967. It consists of a 10-meter pedestal lined with granite and an equestrian statue 9.6 m high, cast at the Leningrad «Monumentsculptura» factory. In 1970, Soslanbek Tavasiev was awarded the USSR State Prize for this work.

On the Day of Russia, the Head of the Republic laid fresh flowers at the Friendship Monument, erected in honor of the 400th anniversary of the voluntary entry of Bashkortostan into the Russian state.

The monument was laid in 1957, and its grand opening took place in 1965. It symbolizes the great fraternal friendship of the Russian and Bashkir peoples.
