Vladimir Putin signed a decree awarding Ufa the honorary title «City of Labor Valor»

On July 2, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a decree on conferring the honorary titles «City of Labor Valor» on 20 Russian cities, including Ufa.

In honor of this event, a festive salute will be held on Friday, July 3, in the capital of Bashkortostan on Lenin Square at 23.00.

The Head of Ufa Administration, Ulfat Mustafin, noted that the assignment of Ufa to the title «City of Labor Valor» is a historical event for the entire region.

«Ufa is one of the many cities of our country in which, according to a figurative expression, victory was forged during the war years. Despite the fact that our city was in the rear, from the first days of the war, all life in Ufa was rebuilt in a military way. A low bow to veterans, homefront workers and all those who brought Victory closer,» said the Head of Ufa Administration.

The city of labor valor is the honorary title of the Russian Federation established by the federal law of March 1, 2020 «in order to perpetuate the exploit of the homefront workers during the Great Patriotic War.» The title is given to the cities of Russia, whose residents «made a significant contribution to achieving Victory in the Great Patriotic War, ensuring uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises located on the territory of the city, and at the same time showing mass labor heroism and dedication.»
