Ulfat Mustafin presented the preliminary results of the voting on the choice of the site for the installation of the «City of Labor Valor» stele in Ufa

On September 18, the Head of Ufa City Administration, the chairman of the city Organizing Committee of the special project «City of Labor Valor» Ulfat Mustafin presented the preliminary results of the online voting on the choice of a place to install the City of Labor Valor stele in Ufa at a meeting of the Presidium of the Regional Political Council of the «United Russia» party.

The Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultai RB Konstantin Tolkachev, Deputy Chairman of the State Assembly of the Republic, Head of the Regional Executive Committee of the «United Russia» party Rustem Akhmadinurov also attended the meeting.

At the beginning of his speech, Ulfat Mustafin expressed gratitude for the support and contribution to the awarding of the honorary title «City of Labor Valor» to all those present, veterans, home front workers, as well as residents and labor collectives of the capital of Bashkortostan.

Preparatory work has been carried out since 2019, recalled Ulfat Mustafin. The Ufa Administration, together with the Public Chamber of the city, discussed the issue of conferring the honorary title «City of Labor Valor and Glory» to the capital. As a result, a petition was sent to the Interstate Union of Hero Cities and on December 11 last year Ufa was awarded the honorary international title «City of Labor Valor and Glory».

«Our initiative was supported by the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Faritovich Khabirov, for which we are separately grateful. A petition was sent to the President of the country, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, to confer an honorary title on Ufa. Then we organized a collection of signatures among residents, labor collectives and public organizations of the city. From June 25 to July 1, it was held at the polling stations of the all-Russian vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Our initiative was also supported by the republic's municipalities.» said Ulfat Mustafin.

In total, more than one million signatures were collected. Following the results of July 2, by the decree of the President of Russia, 20 cities, including Ufa, were awarded the honorary title «City of Labor Valor».

According to federal law, a stele with the emblem of Ufa and the text of the decree of the President of the country should be installed in the city. The organizing committee, which included representatives of enterprises, historians and architects, announced a competition for the best layout of the future stele.

According to the results, the winner was the layout of the team of architects Konstantin Donguzov and Damir Magafurov. It is an octahedral column crowned with the gilded coat of arms of the city, which stands on a tetrahedral pedestal. On the edges of the pedestal are the text of the Decree and thematic reliefs dedicated to the main sectors of the national economy of those years.

From June 30 to September 17, inclusive, on the websites of the regional branch of the «United Russia» party, the Ufa City Administration and in social networks, a nationwide vote was held to choose the location of the stele.

«Two locations were nominated for voting: the area of the main entrance to Lenin Park at the intersection of Lenin and Zaki Validi streets and the entrance to Victory Park. According to the results, the leaders were the location at the entrance to Victory Park in the northern part of the city. More than 60% of the votes were cast for it.» said Ulfat Mustafin.

At the end of his speech, the head of the Ufa Administration proposed to extend the voting for the place of the commemorative stele so that more residents have the opportunity to express their point of view.

The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov supported this proposal and noted that it is necessary to take into account the opinion of as many Ufa residents as possible.
