Prospects of cooperation with Turkish companies were discussed in Ufa

On December 11, as part of the International Business Week 2020 held in Ufa, the prospects for bilateral cooperation between Ufa and Turkish companies were discussed.

The Republic of Turkey was represented at the meeting by a delegation led by the President of the Association of Crimean Tatars in Turkey and Friends of the Crimea Unver Sel, as well as the ex-deputy of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Myjdat Kayaerli, and heads of a number of companies in the country in the field of construction, clothing and textile industry.

The capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan was represented by the Deputy Head of Ufa City Administration Nikolai Fadeev and the heads of the structural divisions of the city administration - the Economy and Investment Department Timur Khafizov, the Department for Work with Industrial and Municipal Enterprises and Tariff Regulation Elena Suvorova, the Main Department of Architecture and Urban Planning Oleg Baidin.

The meeting was also attended by the President of the Fund of Parliamentarians of the Turkic World in the Russian Federation Danis Suleimanov, General Director of the State Unitary Enterprise «Agidel» Guzel Karimova and a member of the Board of Directors of the Oktyabrsky shopping center Tagir Rakhmatullin.

During the event, the parties considered possible forms of cooperation between Bashkortostan, its capital and Turkey, including the implementation of investment projects in the field of construction, logistics, clothing production.

Introducing Ufa, Nikolai Fadeev noted that the Republic of Bashkortostan and, in particular, the city of Ufa are actively engaged in international and foreign economic cooperation.

«In 2019, trade between Russia and Turkey amounted to $ 26 billion, and between Bashkortostan and Turkey - $ 140 million. At present, together with Turkish investors, work is underway to implement the construction of a new building and reconstruct the building of maternity hospital No. 3 in Ufa. According to preliminary data, the total volume of investments is 3 billion rubles. Today the authorities of the city and the republic are also open for interaction with potential investors. For Ufa, the development of cooperation and the exchange of experience in the field of new technologies and construction is of great interest,» he stressed.

In turn, according to Unver Sel, Turkey is interested in deepening cooperation with Bashkortostan in all areas of activity, including the development of textile production, the implementation of construction projects, production of spare parts, as well as the bottling of technical fluids for automobile, commercial transport and agricultural machinery.

«The Turkish side has a need to supply the Turkish Republic with products of the petrochemical, chemical and metallurgical industries of enterprises of the Republic of Bashkortostan,» he added.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed that there is a great potential for further mutually beneficial and effective cooperation between the Administration of Ufa, companies and organizations of Turkey. The parties expressed confidence that the meeting will give a positive impetus to the further development of bilateral ties. In particular, due to the restrictions associated with the pandemic of the new coronavirus infection, an agreement was reached to intensify online contacts in order to expand cooperation ties through holding meetings in the format of video conferencing.
