Based on the results of online voting, the City of Labor Valor stele will be installed at the entrance to Victory Park in the northern part of Ufa

On February 16, during a meeting of the Presidium of the regional political council of «United Russia», the Head of Ufa City Administration Sergei Grekov announced the results of an online voting on the location of the City of Labor Valor stele in the capital of Bashkortostan.

Voting was conducted from June 30 to September 17, 2020 on the websites of the regional branch of the «United Russia» party, Ufa City Administration and on social networks. More than 17 thousand residents of the republic expressed their opinion.

There were two accommodation options to choose from - first Alley along Pervomayskaya Street opposite the central entrance to Victory Park. The second proposition was to place the memorial at the site of the main entrance to the park at the intersection of Lenin and Zaki Validi streets.

«The intrigue was preserved to the last. The opinion of the residents was constantly divided equally,» - said Sergei Grekov.

As a result, the first option won with a small margin: 66.4% of the voters considered that the stele should be installed in the Chernikovka microdistrict.

«Now at the federal level, the issue of installing a single stele in all 20 cities that have been awarded the title «City of Labor Valor»» is being considered,» - said Sergei Grekov. He added that the all-Russian public-state organization «Russian Military Historical Society» held an open all-Russian creative competition for the development of the best architectural and artistic solution of the stele «City of Labor Valor», in which the work of the group of authors from Bashkortostan Konstantin Donguzov and Damir Magafurov won the largest number of votes in the public vote.

At the end of his speech, Sergei Grekov expressed his deep gratitude to the veterans, home front workers, labor collectives and all those who were involved in the work of conferring the honorary title on Ufa.

It should be noted that the capital of the republic was included in the list of cities that received the honorary title «City of Labor Valor». More than one million residents of Ufa and the republic have signed for conferring a high status on Ufa. The «United Russia» activists collected most of the signatures.

In addition, during the meeting of the Presidium of the regional political council of «United Russia», the local branches of the party were awarded based on the results of work last year. Among the winners, the activity of the Ufa branch of the party was noted. The diploma and the certificate of the winner in the annual competition were presented to the secretary of the Ufa branch of the party, the deputy head of Ufa City Administration Alina Suleimanova.
