On April 10, in Ufa, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, together with members of the Government of the republic and architects-planners, got acquainted with the project to locate an interuniversity student campus on the southern slope of the Belaya River and near the Bashkir State University on the squares of the former Kirov plant. The Head of Ufa City Administration Sergey Grekov took part in the visiting meeting.
It should be noted that it is planned to create a campus as part of the formation of a world-class Eurasian Scientific and Educational Center (SEC) in Bashkortostan. According to the architects, a complex of educational buildings, a technopolis, student and sports centers, hostels for students, teachers and young scientists will be located on an area of 5 hectares. The buildings will be connected by pedestrian and bicycle paths, and they will also equip a descent to the embankment of the Belaya River.
«We discussed the location of the future interuniversity student campus. Initially, we planned to place it on the territory near the «Dema-10» microdistrict. But after talking with rectors of universities and experts from the republican Institute for Urban Development, they came to the conclusion that the campus should be closer to the city center and the main academic buildings. On the site above the southern slope of Belaya, there is a very convenient territory, there are four of our universities nearby - BashSU, USATU, BSMU and BSPU. Here, on the free territory, it is already possible to begin construction. Thus, we solve two problems at once: we create a scientific campus for students with academic and residential buildings, and also equip and improve the southern slope of the Belaya River, » said Radiy Khabirov.
The Head of Bashkortostan instructed the Prime Minister of the Government of the republic, Andrei Nazarov, to coordinate the implementation of the decree on the strategic directions of the socio-economic development of the region until 2024 with the construction of the future campus.
