The winners of the first city volleyball tournament in memory of Ulfat Mustafin have been determined

On May 21, the final games of the city volleyball tournament in memory of Ulfat Mustafin took place at the Rima Batalova Sports Training Center.

Seven teams of boys and girls, who won the regional stages of the competition, attended the competition. The teams included students in grades 9-11 of educational institutions of Ufa. In total, 196 teams took part in the competition, which included more than two thousand high school students.

According to the results of the tournament, the strongest team among young men was the team of school No. 104 of the Demsky district. Pupils of gymnasium №16 of Kirovsky district won the first place among girls.

The winners of the competitions were greeted by the Head of Ufa City Administration Sergey Grekov, the deputy of the Ufa City Council Marat Vasimov, the chairman of the Sports Volleyball Federation Valery Bagmetov, the sons of Ulfat Mustafin - Marcel and Albert Mustafin.

«I watched your game with pleasure, felt your energy. I am sure that Ulfat Mansurovich dreamed of such a bright sports holiday when he began to develop mass volleyball in the city of Ufa. We are honored to continue his work. I have no doubt that this tournament will contribute to the education of new champions, » - Sergey Grekov addressed the athletes.

The winners and prize-winners of the competition were awarded certificates, medals and cups, as well as valuable prizes.

The city volleyball tournament in memory of Ulfat Mustafin will become traditional.

Ulfat Mustafin paid special attention to the development of volleyball, the popularization of this sport among the younger generation. One of his initiatives was the «Volleyball in Every Yard» project to equip volleyball courts for sports within walking distance. As part of its implementation, since 2019, 197 new sites have been created in Ufa and 130 existing ones have been improved.
