The Head of Ufa City Administration Sergei Grekov and the chief federal inspector for the Republic of Bashkortostan Alexei Kasyanov, as well as deputies of Ufa City Council Artur Khazigaleev and Aydar Zubairov attended the ceremony.

New generations were born and raised in peacetime, but only thanks to those who, in the days of the hardest trials and hardships during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, defended the freedom and independence of our Motherland.

More than 189 thousand children of war live in Bashkortostan, more than 50 thousand in Ufa. On March 25 of this year, the Law of the Republic of Bashkortostan «On Children of War» was adopted, which approves measures of social support for residents of the republic born in the period from June 22, 1927 to September 3, 1945.

«Today, for the first time, on this stage, we present «Children of War» certificates, as well as medals «For Labor Valor». Dear residents of Ufa, I wish our city was cozy, beautiful, clean and all residents happy,» said Sergei Grekov.

Congratulating the participants and guests of the event on the holidays, he presented «Children of War» certificates to ten residents of the city and medals «For Labor Valor» to Ramila Gaisina, teacher of German and English languages at school No. 27, and Rim Sharipov, driver of the Ufa Housing Department.
