The International Exhibition of Folk Arts and Crafts opened in Ufa

The «Heart of the Folkloriada» a large-scale International Exhibition of Folk Arts and Crafts opened in Ufa within the framework of the VI World Folkloriada CIOFF®️. 

«We witnessed a delightful show that the Republic of Bashkortostan organized yesterday for representatives of almost 40 countries of the world. Today there will be a parade and the participants will give you a unique opportunity to admire the wonderful show. Amid pandemic, it is necessary to build a new world of friendship and remember that we are all together - today, tomorrow and forever,» - President of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Traditional Arts CIOFF®️, Philippe Bossan said at the opening ceremony.

 «Exhibition of Folk Arts and Crafts is the most complex one that exists in folk culture. If you can take away songs, dances, music only in memory, then the products of artisans will remind the participants of our wonderful festival for a very long time,» - the President of the Russian National Section CIOFF, Director of V. Polenova State Russian House of Folk Art Tamara Purtova said. 

The opening ceremony was also attended by Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan Amina Shafikova, Ambassador of the World Folkloriada, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Nadezhda Babkina, Chairman of the Committee for the preparation and holding of the World Folkloriada Alejandro Camacho Gonzalez.

The exhibition features works by about 40 artisans from 19 countries of the world. In addition, 39 enterprises, organizations and individual entrepreneurs from Ufa presented their souvenir products. The exposition includes samples of arts and crafts, elements of national costume, honey products, jewelry, household items and much more.

The guests of the fair were able to observe how the masters create their works; in particular, they saw the making of folk musical instruments such as kubyz and kurai. Craftsmen delighted the guests with interesting master classes on wood carving, carpet weaving, felt, art painting on fabric, etc.

The «Heart of Folkloriada» International Exhibition of Folk Arts and Crafts will be open daily from 11.00 am to 07.00 pm until July 10, 2021.
