TRAINEES OF UFA SPORTS SCHOOLS PARTICIPATED AT SUMMER PARALYMPIC GAMES

From August 24 to September 5, 2021, the Summer Paralympic Games were held in Tokyo. The Russian national team included 12 athletes from the Republic of Bashkortostan. Egor Sorokin, Head of Physical Culture and Sports Department, made a report on their results at the briefing.

At the opening ceremony of the Paralympics, Elena Pautova, a trainee of the sports school of the Olympic reserve No.7 and two-time Paralympic champion, together with Andrei Vdovin, ten-time world champion in track and field athletics for people with disabilities of the musculoskeletal system, became the flag-bearers of the Russian national team.

In the competitive program, Elena Pautova with the leading sportsman Grigory Andreev won a silver medal. Another trainee of the school №7 Anna Kulinich-Sorokina with the leading sportsman Sergei Petrichenko became the bronze medalist in the 200 meters running.

Elena Prokofieva, a trainee of sports school No. 31, won her first gold medal at the Paralympics in table tennis competitions. In the decisive fight, she defeated an opponent from France.

Trainees of the sports school of the Olympic reserve in fencing also performed strongly. Therefore, Nikita Nagaev won a bronze medal in foil fencing.

In addition, the Republic was represented by four swimmers from Ufa, trainees of the sports adaptive school of the Paralympic reserve of the Republic of Bashkortostan: Anna Krivshina, Bogdan Mozgovoy, Ilnur Garipov, Adelina Razetdinova.

Bogdan Mozgovoy, who previously trained at the Ufa sports school No. 18, became a triumphant in the 100-meter distance in swimming and set a Paralympic record. He also, together with Andrey Nikolaev, won gold in the combined relay 4x100 m.

Trainees of Ufa sports Anna Krivshina and Ilnur Garipov won gold medals at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in the mixed relay 4x100 meters freestyle together with Daria Pikalova and Vladimir Sotnikov. Anna also became a silver medalist in the sport of the blind in swimming for 50m.

In total, the Ufa team brought 4 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals to the collection of the Russian national team.
