Today, October 8, the official delegation met with representatives of ministries and departments of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Administration of Ufa. They discussed the possibilities of cooperation in various fields: culture, education, industry, high technologies, medicine, trade and bee-keeping.

The head of the Ufa City Administration Sergey Grekov, welcomed the participants of the meeting and provided a general overview about the city, and main areas of Administration work.

- Ufa has 10 sister-cities and 57 cooperation agreements. The Republic of Bashkortostan and, in particular, the city of Ufa carry out active international and foreign economic cooperation, he said. - One of the key directions and driver of the city's development is investments in the economy. Therefore, we are working on creation a favorable investment and business potential. We work individually with each investor.

In turn, the representatives of the delegation appreciated the hospitality provided, and expressed their particular interest in exchanging experience.

- We hope that our cooperation will be beneficial for both cities and will take place in deep friendship. I think that the city of Ufa, having its experience, technology and resources, will make a significant contribution to the strategic transformation of the capital of Djibouti, - Fatuma Awale Osman, Mayor of Djibouti, said.

The mission program includes visits to enterprises and institutions of culture, education, industry, utilities and trade in Ufa.

On May 19, 2021, Ufa City Municipal District Administration and City Hall of Djibouti signed a sister-cities agreement. The document shows the intentions on mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of industry, urban space improvement, trade, tourism, culture, education, youth policy and sports. Another important aspect of the agreement it the exchange of experience in issues of local importance.

The geostrategic position of Djibouti at the crossroads of important trade routes from Asia to Europe and Africa resulting the main interest for foreign companies. Over 12% of the world volume of sea cargo transportation passes through the territorial waters of the country.
