SERGEY GREKOV INVITED THE CITY COUNCIL DEPUTIES TO JOIN THE PREPARATION OF THE 450th ANNIVERSARY OF UFA

On November 24, the Head of Ufa Administration Sergey Grekov made a speech at a regular meeting of the City Council with a report on the preparations for the celebration of the 450th anniversary of the founding of Ufa.

At the beginning of his speech, he recalled that the list of objects that will be built and reconstructed for the celebration of the anniversary was approved on November 17 by the order of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov.

The general budget for the preparation and holding of festive events consist of several sources – federal funding, republican and city budgets, business investments. The program includes several sections.

A significant part of the funds will be allocated for the construction of new facilities. This section includes such landmark projects as the Eurasian Library to be built on the South Slope , the Ufa – 2 Settlement Archaeological Site on Pushkin Street, a complex of structures for rowing slalom in Inors, the Fencing Center, the Wrestling Center and others.

The block of housing and communal services, landscaping and ecology includes parks, squares and boulevards.

-  We pay a lot of attention today to the arrangement of parks and squares. Literally in every district of the city there will be a new park, – Sergey Grekov said. – For example, in Chernikovka, the Petrochemicals Park, which we have started designing, will become a new center of attractions for residents. Conceptually, it will connect Victory and Pervomaisky parks. It is also planned to reconstruct the stadium «Stroitel’», and this facility will become a large center of activity.

Among the «jubilee» territories of improvement, he also named the central park in Dem, the parks «Volna» and «Yuzhny».

Several dozen large social facilities, including schools, kindergartens and recreation camps will be built and reconstructed.

Special attention will be paid to cultural heritage sites. First of all, we are talking about the reconstructions and improvement of the October Revolution Street «from facade to facade». The old house are settled and will be sold to private investors through a tender. The new owners will have to not only restore the houses, but also make them into commercial objects.

All of this is part of a larger preparatory program. At the republican level, a team headed by Radiy Khabirov is working on this. There is a regional organizing committee and a city directorate. Sergey Grekov appealed to the deputies of the City Council with a proposal to join the preparation and work of the Directorate for those objects that will be financed from the city budget and at the expense of investors, to submit their ideas and wishes.

He also said that the municipality has enlisted the support of deputies of the State Duma of Russia and senators from the republic in order to receive as much funding as possible for the implementation of significant number of projects.

- The big anniversary of our city is a holiday for all Ufa residents, which we must do not for the citizens, but together with them. Every resident should have the opportunity to be involved in its preparation and conduct – summed up the Head of Ufa Administration.
