Flowers were laid at the Monument of Friendship, the monuments to Salavat Yulaev and Shaikhzada Babich

On June 12, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov took part in the festive events dedicated to the Day of Russia, the 448th anniversary of the founding of the Ufa Fortress (Day of the City of Ufa) and the 268th anniversary of the birth of Salavat Yulaev.

He laid flowers at the Friendship Monument, erected in honor of the 400th anniversary of the voluntary entry of Bashkortostan into the Russian state. The monument was laid in 1957, and its grand opening took place in 1965. This is a symbol of fraternal friendship between the Russian and Bashkir peoples. Head of Ufa Administration Ratmir Mavliev took part in the flower-laying ceremonies.

Then, flowers were laid at the monument to the Bashkir poet and public figure Shaikhzada Babich. The monument was opened in June 2019. The total height of the monument is about 6 m. Its author is the sculptor, People's Artist of Russia Andrei Kovalchuk, who previously worked on the Ufa and Kazan monuments to the Bashkir poet, writer and playwright of Bashkortostan Mustai Karim.

In honor of the 267th anniversary of the birth of Salavat Yulaev, to the sounds of kurai, the leaders of the region and the city laid flowers at the monument to the national hero of Bashkortostan. Sculptor Soslanbek Tavasiev designed the largest equestrian statue in Russia and Europe. The monument was opened in 1967. It consists of a 10-meter pedestal lined with granite and a 9.6-meter-high equestrian statue cast at the Leningrad «Monumentsculptura» factory. In 1970, Soslanbek Tavasiev was awarded the USSR State Prize for this work.

In 2024, we will hold large events dedicated to the 450th anniversary of Ufa. We have already begun preparations for this anniversary and tell people about our work. For example, today we will open the Kashkadan park with a light and music fountain in the Oktyabrsky district of the capital. Preparation for the anniversary is a whole complex of events. We will put things in order on roads, in yards and entrances, we will repair many social and cultural facilities, and we will complete new large construction projects. We move forward confidently and calmly,» said Radiy Khabirov.
