World Space Week - 2018 in Ufa

Ufa Planetarium holds World Space Week 2018 from October 4-10. The theme is “Space Unites the World”.

World Space Week is the largest annual space event in the world. The dates coincide with the launch, on 4 October 1957, of the first artificial satellite, Sputnik I, and the entry into force, on 10 October 1967, of the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies. The event is held under the auspices of UN Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.

Each year, a theme for World Space Week is established by World Space Week Association and UN Committee.

It has been 61 years since the first launching of artificial satellite. This event marked the beginning of the Space Age.
