Ufa swimmer won a silver medal in “Alexander Popov cup”

On December, 6-8 Kazan held XI Alexander Popov Cup. 1600 young athletes under 16 from Russia, CIS countries, and Europe took part in competition.

Students from the Olympic Reserve sports school №18 Viktoriya Lisitskaya and Aleksandra Nikitina represented Ufa on this cup.

13 years old Viktoriya won silver medal on 50 metres distance in breast stroke. Moreover, she made a standard of “Master of Sports of Russia” and became the youngest one who owes this rank in Bashkortostan among swimmers.

In July, 2019 Viktoriya will perform with Ufa national team on International Children Games which will be held in Ufa.

XI Alexander Popov Cup had a new style and united 6 kinds of sport: Greco-Roman Wrestling, Handball, Cross-Country Skiing, Gymnastics, Synchronized Swimming.

Within the frames of the competition, 30 Olympic champions and medalists and champions of the world and Europe came to share their experiences with young athletes.

Leaders of the international sport community, heads of the RF regions, and top executives of major international companies will be honored guests of the Cup.

Alexander Popov Cup – one of the most important stages for swimmers to prepare for other competitions and Olympic Games.
