Grand opening of The Year of Theatre

Presidential Press Office announced that President Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order ‘On Holding the Year of Theatre in Russia’ in 2019 in order to further develop the art of theatre. Grand opening of THE YEAR OF THEATRE all over Russia is hold on December 13.

All national theatres in the Republic will be involved in this event, too. Premieres, theme quests, exhibitions, workshops, plays, excursions etc. are taken this day. Official sites of the theatre will provide detailed program.

Main issues of the Year – to develop the art of theatre further, make theatre available to everyone from different cities.

During the Year, large-scale international and all-Russian events are planned. In 2019 XXV Festival “Golden Mask” and other significant events (festivals, forums and meetings) connected with theatre will be held all over Russia.

Organizing committee on holding all-Russian program “The Year of Theatre” in Russia is led by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets. Also, the Committee will include representatives of federal and regional organizations connected with theatre.
