Ufa holds competition for disabled people

Today, the tournament on Russian Billiards, checkers, chess and backgammon among people with disabilities take place in the billiard club «Olymp». The event is dedicated to the Defender Day and international women's day on March 8

Over 100 disabled people from Ufa, Tuymazy, Beloretsk, Ufa district, Ust-Katav of Chelyabinsk region participated in the event. Department of physical culture and sports of Ufa Administration, Ufa city organization of disabled people "MIR", the center of sports development in Ufa organized the event.

The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by the Head of Department of physical culture and sports of Ufa Administration Sergey Stepanov, Deputy of state Duma of the Russian Federation of V-VI convocations Irshat Fakhritdinov, Chairman of the Commission for the development of physical culture and sports of the Bashkir regional branch of the party "United Russia", 36-time world champion in kickboxing and martial arts Vil Gabdullin.

Sergey Stepanov greeted participants of the tournament and marked that the event is popular and traditionally it is attended by a large number of participants, including people from neighboring regions of Bashkortostan.

«I Express my gratitude to the Chairman of Ufa city organization of disabled people «Mir» Vladimir Gorbunov for high level of organization of the competition» he said.

Ufa city organization of disabled people «Mir» pays one of the primary issues to hold various sports events. Everyone understands that active lifestyle, physical education and sports are the most important tool for people with disabilities rehabilitation, their integration into society.

«The tournament allows us not only feel sports passion, but also to communicate, have a rest and receive positive emotions» noted participants of the tournament.
