Ulfat Mustafin met with Secretary General of ICG Richard Smith

The capital of Bashkortostan was visited by Secretary General of ICG Richard Smith. On March 14, Ulfat Mustafin met with Richard Smith in the municipality.

Ulfat Mustafin expressed gratitude to Mr. Smith for decision to entrust Ufa to hold 53d ICG. Also, the Head of Administration added that municipality does its best to hold Games on the highest level.

«This is an important event for our city, country and the world. Contest of such a level is a motivation for infrastructure, investment potential of the city and promotion of the Games» said Ulfat Mustafin. «We will do our best to show ones more Bashkir hospitality» added the Head of Administration.

Contracts with hotels are signed and room are booked according to necessary number. Totally, it is planned to accommodate 2 000 guests including 1 700 athletes and coaches. Issues on meal and transportation services are worked out. Since March 15, trainings for volunteers will have started. 600 applications were sent to take part in organizational process for the Games.

«We pay great attention to security issue. We have inspected all venues which will be involved  in the Games. Of course, the essential one is the question of venues preparation. Almost all of them are finished. We are planning to finish all works till the end of May» marked the Head of Administration. «I’m sure that within the frames of the 53d ICG Ufa will have new traditions, initiatives and original competition will be held».

Richard Smith thanked all for warm welcome, conveyed gratitude from the president of ICG Torsten Rash and said that he is sure in the success of the Games in Ufa.

«Ufa has already hosted Winter Games in 2013. We enjoyed them. I will be glad to be here in Ufa during ICG 2019. Today we have visited hotels where athletes and coaches will be accommodated. Staff was friendly and I didn’t notice ant problems in hotels».

Secretary General will inspect sports venues in Ufa which will be involved in the Games. Also, he will meet with volunteers who are being instructed as part of the General training program. Totally, Richard Smith visited Ufa 10 times.
