Ufa held 1st Republican festival of children's book «Taganok» on the basis of children’s library №39 and the Bashkir puppet theater.

The festival was organized by the «Centralized system of children's libraries of Ufa» and the Bashkir state puppet theater. The event was held in the framework of the project «Theater + book» and was dedicated to the opening of the year of Theater in Russia, the 100th anniversary of the birth of the national poet of the Republic of Bashkortostan Mustai Karim and the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The main event of the festival «Taganok» was a review of puppet performances of amateur theater groups, based on the works of Mustai Karim and Bashkir folk tales. Ufa brought together 13 theatrical creative associations under children's libraries from Karmaskalinsky, Uchalinsky, Sterlitamak, Buzdyaksky, Ufa regions and districts of the republic and city.

Let us note that the dolls and decorations were made by the participants. People's artist of the Russian Federation Airat Akhmetshin, the chief artist of the Bashkir state puppet theater Andrei Volkov and the head of the literary part of the institution Diana Garayeva, Director of the Centralized system of children's libraries of Ufa Alfiya Yunusova, the famous Ufa bard and poet Nikolai Grakhov evaluated the young theatergoers.

Also, Airat Akhmetshin held a master class on puppeteering, where beginners could see and learn the subtleties of the profession, learn about the typical mistakes of beginners and ask their questions.

Participants of the festival also got acquainted with the trend called «baby-theater» (for the youngest spectators) and watched the performance of the Bashkir state puppet theater, created specifically for the youngest audience «Why is spring red?».

In the end of the event the teams were awarded with diplomas and prizes.
