Ulfat Mustafin met with famous paralympic athlete Alexey Talai

On May 7, Ulfat Mustafin met with motivational speaker, businessman, children fund founder, member of Paralympic team of Belarus Alexey Talai.

Deputy Heaf of Administration Alina Suleymanova and deputy of City Council Iosif Marach also took part in the event.

Alexey Talai is a famous public person who encourages people all over the world with his own experience to go strong and use every chance in the life. In 1999, when he was 16 years old, he tripped on a mine which was dated to Great Patriotic War and lost both legs and hands. However, , he didn’t despair and started successful business, performed in many countries of the world, became a master of sports in swimming, the owner of a black belt in Taekwondo. Also, he has 4 children.

During the conversation, Alexey Talai, as a person from sports, spoke about the upcoming half-marathon in Minsk and expressed hope for the participants from Ufa. Ulfat Mustafin, in turn, noted that the capital of Bashkortostan is not only a major industrial and cultural center, but also a city of sport.

«This year, we host 53d ICG-2019 on July, 9-14. Athletes from Belarus will also take part in the Games. We will be glad to meet your sportsmen and our city is prepared for this event» said Ulfat Mustafin.

The issues of creating a barrier-free environment for people with disabilities were discussed at the meeting. Alexei Talai, who visits the Republic for the third time, marked that Ufa has made great progress in this direction, urban environment is changing in a quite noticeable way.

«We are working on this but lots should still be done. Today, property developers are required to provide housing and social facilities with elements of an accessible urban environment. In addition, we have an effective experience of interaction with wheelchair users – joint detours are organized to assess the availability of the environment and find solutions to minimize inconveniences. We will continue this practice, including recreation areas and parks» marked Ulfat Mustafin.
