Ufa will host an international film festival «Silver Akbuzat»

On August 24, festival opening will take place in GKZ «Bashkortostan». On the same day in movie theater «Rodina», game full-length, short and documentary films will be shown. Screenings will be organized on 24, 25 and 26 August from 10:00 until evening.

Movies from Australia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, India, China etc. will take part in the competitive program of the IV International film festival «Silver Akbuzat». Russia will be represented by 7 films from Bashkortostan, and also Tatarstan, Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Khakasiya, Chechen Republic etc.

It should be noted, that in the frame of the film festival a number of premiers will take place. In total, applications from 34 subjects of the Russian Federation and 28 countries were received for the film festival. Prominent filmmakers from around the world will come to the festival as guests of honor. A jury will consist of 8 experts.

In the frame of the festival, a number of events is planned to be held:

August 24 – public screening of the film «First Republic» in «Rodina» movie theatre;

August 25 – special screening of the theatrical film «Kazakh kingdom. Golden throne» in «Rodina» movie theatre;

August 25-26 – film equipment exhibition in city center «Art-kvadrat»;

August 27 – in the afternoon, panel discussion with the participation of festival guests. In the evening – a closing ceremony of the festival in «Toratau» congress-hall and «Symphonoch’» in «Vatan» park, where National symphonic orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan will perform music from famous films.

Creative meetings and master classes from famous cultural luminaries are to be held. For example, a meeting with cult-favorite polish movie director Krzysztof Zanussi is planned.

Festival establishers are the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Culture Ministry of the Republic of Bashkortostan, GAU RB film studio «Bashkortostan» named after Amir Abdrazakov.

Film festival «Silver Akbuzat» is carried out with the assistance of Ufa Administraion. Partners of the festival are «Rodina» movie theatre – Centre of Russian cinematography and GKZ «Bashkortostan».
