The technical opening of the Gymnastics Center of Bashkortostan took place in Ufa

On April 13, in Ufa, with the participation of the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, the technical opening of the Republican Gymnastics Center took place. The new sports facility was built on the instructions of the President of the country Vladimir Putin, which he gave in 2018 at the forum «Russia - a sports power».

The Head of the region, together with the vice-president of the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation, two-time Olympic champion Svetlana Khorkina, toured the Gymnastics Center of Bashkortostan. It includes a specialized gym with stands, training grounds, a choreography hall that can be transformed into a conference hall, a hotel for athletes for 30 people, a rehabilitation center, and medical rooms. According to the plans, there will be sections in rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline sports. More than 700 athletes will be able to train here at the same time. The entire complex was equipped with modern security systems.

«Three years ago in Ulyanovsk, at the forum «Russia – a sports power», a seven-year-old gymnast from the famous Ufa sports school No. 16 Dasha Krutko turned to the President of the country Vladimir Putin with a request to equip a jumping pit in the existing gym. The best solution was the construction of this new Gymnastics Center. We are grateful to the Head of our state and the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation for the attention to this project, for the professional proposals that made it possible to create a facility that meets the highest international standards,» said Radiy Khabirov.

The Head of the republic also noted that by the 450th anniversary of Ufa, which will be celebrated in 2024, new sports facilities will appear in the capital of the region - the Wrestling Center, the Fencing Center, a complex of facilities for rowing slalom.

Vice-President of the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation Svetlana Khorkina also expressed her admiration for the new center built in Ufa.

«This is a very complex facility from a technical point of view, but the constructors managed to do everything the way the athletes need. In the new center, residents will also be able to practice dancing, choreography and other disciplines. It is gratifying that our President Vladimir Putin is so attentive to the requests of children and athletes. He understands how important this is for the future of our country,» said Svetlana Khorkina.
