Radiy Khabirov and Ratmir Mavliev congratulated students on the Knowledge Day

On September 1, in Ufa, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, and the head of the Administration of the capital, Ratmir Mavliev, visited Education Center No. 40 with an in-depth study of individual subjects.

The head of the region at the solemn line dedicated to the Day of Knowledge congratulated teachers, students and their parents on the start of the new academic year.

«Today is a very important and beloved day for all of us. On the Knowledge Day in Bashkortostan, 500,000 children will sit at school desks, 55,000 of them are first-graders. On the territory of 1.2 thousand schools of the republic, state flags are raised. For school number 40, this day has a special meaning. Now it bears the name of the Hero of Russia Maxim Serafimov. This is your graduate - an amazing person, a real Russian officer. You need to look up to him, remember his feat and educate yourself to be just as brave. This is a great honor and responsibility», – said Radiy Khabirov.

Maxim Serafimov is a graduate of the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army Vasily Margelov. From the first days he took part in a special military operation. In his last battle, repelling the attacks of the forces of a superior enemy, Senior Lieutenant Serafimov covered a grenade thrown by the nationalists with his body. At the cost of his own life, the officer saved his comrades in arms from death.

For courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty, Senior Lieutenant Maxim Serafimov was posthumously awarded the title Hero of Russia. On August 1, 2022, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov handed over the Golden Star of the Hero to the parents of Maxim Serafimov. The Military Patriotic Park of Culture and Rest «Patriot» in the village of Alkino, Chishminsky District, was also named after him.

On September 1, on the facade of school No. 40, where Hero of Russia Maxim Serafimov studied, a memorial plaque in honor of the paratrooper was opened.

«We have gathered here to pay tribute to the memory and respect for a wonderful person, officer Maxim Serafimov. He graduated from this school in 2013. Nine years have passed, and we are opening a memorial plaque dedicated to our hero on its wall. This is an amazing person. The history of his service and feat should be told to the younger generation. This is the real courage. We thank his parents who raised such an outstanding person. For my part, I firmly promise that we will always remember his feat. Eternal glory to all the heroes who defended and defend our Motherland!» – said Radiy Khabirov at the solemn rally.

To the sound of hymns, the state flags of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Bashkortostan were raised in front of the school building. The right to raise the flag of Russia was given to the younger brother of the hero, a 9th grade student of the Education Center No. 40, Viktor Serafimov, an excellent student, winner and participant of the All-Russian Chemistry Olympiads. An excellent student Kamilla Makhmutova raised the flag of Bashkortostan.

During a visit to the school, the Head of Bashkortostan talked with the parents of Maxim Serafimov.

«When our son entered the military school, there was a big competition. But he withstood all the tests and fulfilled his childhood dream - to become a professional military man. The school also opened a stand in memory of Maxim Serafimov and the Hero's Desk in room No. 208. The Hero's Desk project is being implemented at the initiative of the «United Russia» party. It is aimed at preserving historical memory, forming in children and adolescents a respectful attitude towards the history of the Fatherland, the heroic past and present of the country, participants in the Great Patriotic War and hostilities, labor veterans.

Radiy Khabirov also got acquainted with the work of the canteen and visited the school geological museum, which contains exhibits from Bashkortostan, other regions of Russia and foreign countries. For organizing the study of the natural heritage of the native land, the museum was awarded a UNESCO diploma.
